World Health Day 2026 – "Together for health. Stand with science" (April 7)
This year’s campaign celebrates the power of scientific collaboration to protect the health of people, animals, plants and the planet. Hong Kong is part of this global effort with three WHO collaborating centres supporting global health programmes, from tobacco control to traditional medicine and influenza surveillance.
World Parkinson’s Day (April 11)
Parkinson’s disease affects over 12 million people worldwide. The Hong Kong Parkinson’s Foundation plans to hold the 24th “Love & Care Tai Chi Exercise” (June 7, 2026), aiming to deepen public understanding of Parkinson’s disease and promote Tai Chi practice to improve overall health.
World Malaria Day (April 25)
World Malaria Day 2026 carries the theme "Driven to End Malaria: Now We Can. Now We Must.". New vaccines and tools make ending malaria possible in our lifetime, with 47 countries having been certified malaria-free. But progress is at risk. In 2024, there were 282 million cases and 610,000 deaths. Funding gaps and drug resistance threaten hard-won gains.
